Holderness was a Seigniory (a feudal domain - the fee or manor of a Seignior), a Deanery (a group of Ecclesiastical Parishes) and a Wapentake in the old East Riding of Yorkshire covering roughly the area east of a line drawn between Kingston upon Hull and Bridlington, but not including either.
