History of Silkstone and Worthies of Barnsley

 The History and Topography of the parish of Silkstone:  The author of this book was the Chaplain of Stainborough and the Vicar of Silkstone. His book contains around 200 pages and describes the parish in the period (roughly) from when the church was founded up to modern (1922) times.  Barnsley Worthies: This book of over 500 pages contains the details of 12 Barnsley "worthies" and their families (see contents). Each of the families is described in considerable detail, and gives lots of names of those asscociated with the family besides those of the family members.
