We can search for wills in the Prerogative Courts of York, pre 1858. Our search fee includes the cost of a photo copy of the will, taken from microfilm at the Borthwick Institute for Historical Research. If the microfilm copy should prove to be unreadable, or not make a good photocopy, we will advise you and may require a further payment in order to obtain a good copy from the original, which has to be done by staff at the Borthwick Institute.
The cost of mailing copy to you is also included in the charge.
